Český Krumlov is small town in the Southern Bohemia region of the Czech Republic. We decided to check out this little town as a one day trip from Prague but once we arrived we wished we had planned to stay overnight as it was easy to instantly fall in love with this charming town.
We stopped for two days in Mülheim, Germany on our way to Prague and we had the pleasure of staying with my cousin Eric and his wife Birgit. They showed us around Mülheim which is a clean and quiet city with touches of traditional German culture and style that would peek out of the store fronts and quaint homes.
We spent one day riding a ferry to the neighboring town of Kettwig and enjoyed a traditional German lunch - jaeger schnitzel! I was so full but it really was very delicious with the rich, mushroom gravy. We then rented local bikes and road along a winding six mile path back to Mülheim. A perfect way to enjoy the German countryside with dear family we don't get to see often.
